When you link your Epic Games account in Rocket League to PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo or Steam, your inventory, Competitive Rank and Rocket Pass tier are shared on every connected platform. Credits, however, do not move between platforms. You link accounts in your player profile right in the game, and Psyonix has a dedicated page at rocketleague.com/activate. Here is what linking gives you, what is and isn’t shared, and how it ties in with the Epic Games Store and Fortnite. The information is valid as of 20 October 2026.
Why link your account
Rocket League supports cross-platform progression. Epic sums it up simply: you share your inventory, Competitive Rank and Rocket Pass tier on any connected platform. The PlayStation Store lists the same thing for the game as cross-platform progression.
In practice, if you play on PC at home and on a console at a friend’s place, you don’t have to start over. The cars and cosmetics you have earned are available in both places, and so are your rank from rated matches and your progress in the Rocket Pass, the seasonal reward track.
On PC, an Epic Games account is required for Rocket League, because you download the game from the Epic Games Store. As of 20 October 2026, the game’s Steam page offers no purchase or download. Where you can play and what it costs is summed up in our platforms guide.
What is shared and what isn’t
| Item | Shared after linking? |
|---|---|
| Inventory (cars, wheels, boosts and other cosmetics) | Yes |
| Competitive Rank (your rank in rated matches) | Yes |
| Rocket Pass tier | Yes |
| Items from Item Packs | Yes |
| Credits (in-game currency) | No |

The Credits exception is the most important point in this whole guide. Epic states explicitly that Credits cannot be shared across linked accounts. If you buy Credits on Xbox, you can only spend them on Xbox. So buy them on the platform you play on most.
The shared rank also matters for ranked: once linked, the rank from one platform shows up on the others. How ranks, placements and season rewards work is explained in our ranked guide.
Where to link your accounts
Since 21 October 2024, Rocket League has Player Profiles. Psyonix introduced them together with match history, and in your profile in the game you can link every platform you play on. That is where you connect your Epic Games account to your PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo or Steam accounts.
Psyonix also has its own page for linking at rocketleague.com/activate. Epic’s help centre has an article titled “How do I link multiple Rocket League accounts to my Epic Games Account?”. We don’t copy the exact steps here, follow Psyonix’s page and what the game shows you. Unlinking and merging accounts are not covered in this guide.
Epic Games Store items on console
Some items and offers for Rocket League appear in the Epic Games Store. Epic says that if you want them on another platform too, you need to link your Epic Games account to your console account. Only then do the items you got through Epic show up on PlayStation, Xbox or Switch.
Rocket League and Fortnite
Rocket League runs joint events with Fortnite, and items from them appear in both games. Epic described one such item as joining the rest of the items in your Rocket League garage and your Fortnite locker. If you play Fortnite as well, take a look at our Fortnite guides.
Linking and the Steam Deck
If you own the game on Steam, you can also play it on the Steam Deck, where it is rated Verified. Linking pays off there too, so the Deck has the same inventory and rank as your other devices. Hardware and details are in our guide to the system requirements.
