Dune: Awakening hotfix: mirrored Sardaukar pieces and an end to Q73 transfer errors

Another hotfix has landed in Dune: Awakening on Steam, and this one needs a client-side download. If the update doesn’t show up on its own, restart your Steam client. Servers are coming back up shortly after the patch goes live.

The developers point to their Discord server and the Steam discussion boards for the current list of known issues.

Features and changes

Resources, Building, and Crafting

  • Based on player feedback, eleven asymmetrical pieces of the Sardaukar Building Set in the Filmic Archive DLC now have mirrored versions, so you can build symmetrical layouts without awkward workarounds.
  • The Corner Column piece was added to the Sardaukar Building Set from the Filmic Archive DLC – it was missing from the set at launch.
  • Armor customization sets from the Filmic Archive DLC can now be applied to any type of garment, with a couple of limitations:
    • Heavy, Light and Social chest and leg slot customizations cannot be applied to stillsuit tops, because stillsuits take up two slots.
    • Stillsuit top customizations can be applied to Light, Heavy or Social chest slot items, but doing so overwrites any customization on the leg slot – the stillsuit top covers both the chest and the leg slot.

If you missed the previous round of building set changes, we covered that hotfix with building sets separately.

    Fixes

    Technical and stability

    • Improved server and client stability.
    • Fixed an edge case that could cause save failures in the Xbox PC version.
    • Fixed an issue where character transfers could fail with the Q73 error if the character carried a Solido Replicator received from another player containing a blueprint with a custom name.
    • Fixed several edge cases where you got the MM3 error when trying to play a multiplayer character via the Continue button.
    • Fixed several rare edge cases where the game failed to save after being resumed on Xbox.

    Resources, Building, and Crafting

    • Fixed an issue where fabricators and refineries could fail to recognize water stored in base storage.
    • Fixed an issue where the crafting menu didn’t show the correct time progress in multiplayer.
    • Fixed an issue where augment schematic items didn’t display their stat ranges correctly in single-player. If you’re still finding the system confusing, we have a separate guide to augmentations.

    Vehicles

    • Fixed an issue where actions from the radial wheel menu on vehicles could fail to apply, including a bug that prevented refueling while the vehicle was moving.
    • Fixed a rare issue where vehicles could take environmental damage while sheltered in bases and displaying the “Safe” status.

    Worldbuilding and Exploration

    • Fixed an issue where surveyed areas might not persist between restarts in single-player.

    User Interface

    • Fixed an issue where an item icon displayed an incorrect number of augments if you hadn’t unlocked that many augments for that item type yet.
    • Fixed an issue where the status of completed orders in the Exchange didn’t display correctly.

    What it means for you

This is a cleanup patch above all else. The headline additions are cosmetic – mirrored Sardaukar pieces and far more freedom in armor customization – while the rest targets the errors that have been blocking people from playing at all: Q73 on character transfers, MM3 on the Continue button and save failures on Xbox. Solo players also get two welcome fixes, with surveyed areas finally sticking between restarts and augment schematics showing correct stat ranges.

    FAQ

Do I need to download anything for this hotfix?

Yes. This hotfix requires a client-side download. If the update doesn’t appear automatically, restart your Steam client. Servers come back up shortly after.

What was causing the Q73 error on character transfers?

The transfer could fail if your character had a Solido Replicator received from another player in their inventory containing a blueprint with a custom name. That case is now fixed.

Can I use Filmic Archive armor customizations on any outfit now?

Almost. They work on any type of garment, but Heavy, Light and Social chest and leg customizations can’t go on stillsuit tops, since stillsuits take up two slots. Stillsuit top customizations can go on chest slot items, but they overwrite whatever you had on the leg slot.

What’s new in the Sardaukar Building Set?

Eleven asymmetrical pieces now have mirrored versions, and the Corner Column piece was added because it was missing from the set originally. Both come with the Filmic Archive DLC.

Does this hotfix bring anything for single-player?

Yes. Surveyed areas now persist between restarts, and augment schematic items display their stat ranges correctly in single-player.
