Dune: Awakening hotfix: 7X3 errors gone and the missing building sets are back

Another hotfix has landed on Arrakis, Sleepers, and this one is aimed squarely at the mess that followed the full console launch. It requires a client-side download, so if the update doesn’t show up on its own, restart your Steam client. Servers are coming back up shortly after the patch goes live.

For the current list of known issues, the developers point you to the official Discord server or the Steam discussion boards. If you’re still deciding whether to head to Arrakis at all, the game has its own page on Steam.

Technical fixes and stability

The bulk of this hotfix is plumbing – the kind of thing you only notice when it stops working.

  • General server and client stability fixes.
  • Fixed the 7X3 errors that appeared on live after the full console launch on September 22.
  • Added more logging so Microsoft can track down and resolve the issue where a handful of players couldn’t log into the platform servers on consoles.
  • Fixed the “Failed to save database: IO operation failed with error code 0x000497” error on Windows/Steam, caused by external file locks on the save database.
  • Fixed an issue on Xbox where suspending the title during startup caused a UserDataStorage initialization failure on resume, which left your saves unavailable until you restarted the game.
  • Fixed an issue where DLCs weren’t available through PlayStation Family Sharing.
  • Fixed an issue where custom settings in ServerCustomSettings.ini on self-hosted servers weren’t applied because the file was missing DifficultyLevel=Custom. Updated servers now receive the corrected file as well.
  • Unblocked characters that got stuck after cross-realm transfers on private servers.

If most of this sounds like console trouble, that’s because it is – we covered what the PS5 and Xbox release brought with it in a separate article.

Resources, building and crafting

  • Fixed an issue where Sentinel and Caladan Palace building set pieces were missing from the construction menu after Update 1.5.3.0 in multiplayer. A fix for the same problem in single-player is coming in a future hotfix or patch.
  • Fixed an issue where the origin marker for a backed-up base could sometimes be offset after a server restart.

In other words, if you build in multiplayer, your Sentinel and Caladan Palace pieces are selectable again. Single-player builders need to wait a bit longer – that mode has been getting attention ever since the single-player patch went to testing.

Vehicles

  • Fixed an issue where you could fail to exit the buggy’s turret.

Worldbuilding and exploration

  • Fixed an issue where walk mode would switch itself off automatically after several seconds.
  • Fixed an issue where map markers could randomly fail to persist if other players in the area discovered the same markers at the same moment you did.

Deep Desert and Landsraad

  • Fixed an issue where Placeable Swatch rewards were missing from the House info cards and from the reward dialogue in the Landsraad.

So the rewards you’re voting for are visible again where they should be. If you want a refresher on who’s who in politics on Arrakis, we’ve put together an overview of all 25 Houses.

Story, Journey and new player experience

  • Fixed an issue where the NPC in the Tutorial area could fail to attack you, which made the parry step of the Tutorial hard to get past.
  • Fixed an issue where Trainer journeys wouldn’t auto-complete after a version upgrade for players who had already finished the relevant trainer contracts.

Where to go next
