Marvel Rivals has no Czech localisation. Steam lists sixteen languages for the game and Czech is not among them — Polish is, which stings twice as much for a lot of players from Czechia. Menus, ability descriptions and hero lines will all be in English, and you will only get to play in Czech with people you find yourself. Below we go through where Czech and Slovak players gather, how to put a competitive squad together and how to communicate when nobody in the lobby shares your language.
There is no Czech in the game
Sixteen languages are supported: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Russian, Turkish, Thai, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Latin American Spanish, Korean, Japanese, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese and Arabic. Only some of them get full voice acting; the rest are subtitles and interface.
For a six-versus-six shooter that is not a cosmetic problem. Ultimate descriptions and map callout names stay in English even if you play in an all-Czech squad. If you are not sure who does what and what it is called, start with our overview of the heroes and their roles — so you know what a teammate wants when they type „need heal“ in chat.
Why Czech players organise outside the game
The game has no Czech region and nothing that would replace one. In the lobby you pick a large region — Europe, for us — and the game shows your current ping for it. Matchmaking then drops you among players from across the continent, so a German, a Pole, a Turk and a Spaniard end up next to you and broken English becomes the common tongue.
There is no language filter in the game, so you will only play in Czech or Slovak with people you arranged it with beforehand. It works the same way as in the other big shooters: you play on the European server either way, the only question is who is on your team.
Where to find teammates
Discord is the default address. Servers are free, practically the whole Czech and Slovak gaming community sits on them, and people look for each other by game, role and rank.
If you are wondering where to start, drop by the GamersTogether Discord — it is split up by individual games and has channels for finding teammates, so you post what you play and at what level, and someone looking for the same thing gets back to you.
The second route leads straight out of the game. When a match with someone just clicks, add them to your friend list right after it ends, not a week later. Marvel Rivals suits this way of building a squad quite well: a handful of matches like that is enough to fill six slots, and suddenly you have people to play with regularly.
The game can also show your Discord friends directly in the client, and on PC and Xbox it adds cross-platform chat, so arranging things before a match does not have to run on a phone next to your keyboard.
How to build a competitive squad
Before you can get into ranked play at all, everyone in the squad has to meet an entry requirement: new players need an account at level 15. NetEase introduced the rule with Season 2 in spring 2025 and it still stands. Anyone who has already played a valid competitive match is exempt.
The second thing a squad runs into is group size by rank. In the lower and middle tiers you can play in a larger party, but at the top of the ladder — at Eternity and One Above All — the game only lets solo players and duos into the queue.
The practical takeaway for a Czech squad: build it from people whose ranks are close together, and sort that out before everyone meets on Discord and finds out the queue will not take them together.
When you do not understand each other
English in the lobby is not a requirement, just a convenience. The game builds communication on three independent layers, and two of them work without a single word:
- Pinging. Middle mouse button on PC, D-pad on console. A short press marks a place or an enemy, holding it opens a wheel with specific calls such as „enemy here“ or „need help“. This is the fastest way to pass information to anyone regardless of language.
- Quick chat. The preset lines can be edited and bound to the wheel, so you can prepare exactly the ones you use.
- Voice chat. You turn it on in the settings and choose between an open mic and push-to-talk. Push-to-talk is the more considerate option — teammates only hear what you say on purpose.
When nobody on the team speaks your language, the best approach is to stop trying to explain and start pinging. A marked enemy at the right moment is more useful to the team than a long sentence half the lobby will not understand.
How to keep track of what changes in the game
Marvel Rivals runs in seasons, and each one brings hero adjustments, new maps and changes to the ranked system. The current one is Season 10: Butcher’s Blasphemy, which started on 11 September 2026 and brought in Gorr the God Butcher as a new duelist. Official patch notes come out in English on the game’s site and in Steam News — we publish summaries of the most important changes as they come in the Marvel Rivals section, so you do not have to translate the whole change list yourself.
The second thing worth following is the platform side. The game keeps arriving on more devices, and that changes who you get to play with — we break it down in our piece on platforms and crossplay.
FAQ
No. The game supports sixteen languages and neither Czech nor Slovak is among them. Polish is on the list, but Czech localisation is not.
No. In the lobby you pick a large region; for Czechia and Slovakia that is Europe. The game has no language filter, so it will not find Czech teammates for you.
Fastest on Discord, on servers with channels for finding teammates. The second route is adding people to your friend list when a match with them clicked.
New players need an account at level 15. Anyone who has already played a valid competitive match is not affected by this restriction.
Use pinging and quick chat. You trigger a ping with the middle mouse button on PC or the D-pad on console, and that passes on the information without a single word.
