Street Fighter is coming to Apex Legends on September 22, 2026, and the crossover goes beyond character outfits. EA and Capcom have announced an event featuring a Wildcard Takeover where you can transform into a fighter, unleash Street Fighter-inspired attacks, and use full melee combos from a third-person perspective.
The event also brings eight Legend cosmetics, themed weapon skins, and a Hadoken Mythic Universal Melee. For you, the biggest gameplay change is how fights develop: collecting Tokens powers a transformation, while the final Round introduces special rules that keep downed players in the action.
How Fighter Forms change Wildcard
Before a match starts, you choose your Street Fighter form. During the match, collecting Tokens fills a new Fight Gauge, which lets you activate your Fighter Form. An in-game Token can also change the form you selected.
Each Fighter Form grants new Tacticals and Ultimates inspired by Street Fighter moves, including Hadokens, Shoryukens, Yoga Sunbursts, and Kikosho blasts. Activating a form switches your view to third-person, and Respawn has added full melee combos rather than relying on repeated single strikes.

Showdown changes the final Round
The Takeover’s final Round introduces Showdown. Any player who gets downed immediately rejoins the fight, keeping the closing battle focused on clashes between Fighter Forms. Weapons and standard abilities become less central as players trade Street Fighter-inspired attacks.
Olympus is getting a matching makeover for Wildcard, with arcade cabinets and towering statues depicting Legends as Capcom fighters. World Director Eduardo Agostini said the team’s goal was to make Olympus feel like a living Street Fighter stage.
