Apex Legends: Marked Split 2 buffs Legends, healing loot, and long-range weapons

Apex Legends: Marked Split 2 buffs Legends, healing loot, and long-range weapons

Apex Legends: Marked Split 2 starts September 15, 2026. The update gives Conduit, Fuse, and Catalyst substantial kit and upgrade changes, increases healing availability, and buffs Triple Take, Bocek Compound Bow, and Charge Rifle. It also brings more than 150 map-related quality-of-life fixes and adjustments to loot bins.

The notes also recap several changes already introduced in the August 25 hotfix, including Axle and Seer nerfs. Those are separated below so you can tell what is new for Split 2 and what was already live.

Anti-cheat: new controller detection across platforms

Ahead of Split 2, the team implemented new systems to detect unauthorized controller hardware or software on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch 2. The developers say they spent several months validating the systems before deployment.

Players flagged by these detections face enforcement and may be banned following review. Console players are not exempt. The team plans to keep improving detection as cheating methods evolve and says its enforcement work includes the highest ranks.

Legend buffs and upgrade changes

Conduit gets a more responsive Ultimate, Fuse gains baseline explosive resistance and Knuckle Jump, and Catalyst gets faster setup tools. If you want an overview of the roster alongside these changes, you can read our guide to Apex Legends characters and their roles.

Conduit: faster Energy Barricade and two new upgrades

The goal is to make Conduit’s abilities easier to read and smoother to use while adding more ways to express skill through aggressive support play.

  • Tactical: the shield bar now previews how much Temp Shield you will have when regeneration finishes.
  • Ultimate: deployment is smoother, fires faster, and lets you return to your weapons sooner.
  • You can toggle its orientation while targeting to deploy jammers in a forward line.
  • A new HUD element warns when your placement would break jammers. Individual jammer indicators also turn red when they would break.
  • Jammers spawn higher and slightly closer together, creating a tighter formation with more vertical coverage.
  • Jammers activate significantly faster.

Both previous Level 2 upgrades, Battpack and Bigger Jam, are removed. Their replacements are:

  • Concurrency, Level 2: you can fire Energy Barricade a second time with no cooldown within 10 seconds of the initial shot. Jammers spawn in a tighter formation with two fewer jammers.
  • Jammed Up, Level 2: jammer radius increases by 25%, and enemies damaged by them have their HUD jammed for 10 seconds.

Fuse: Knuckle Jump becomes part of the base kit

Fuse’s changes focus on making his explosives more responsive and effective. Some former upgrade benefits move into his base kit, though the developers stress that he should remain an explosives expert rather than a movement-focused Legend.

  • Passive: Fuse gains 25% Explosive Damage Resistance at base and can see ordnance highlighted within 30 meters.
  • Tactical: Knuckle Jump is available without an upgrade, but no longer reduces Tactical cooldown. Jump power is moderately lower, reducing the momentum gained.
  • A visual indicator shows the radius in which you can activate Knuckle Jump.
  • Returning to your weapons after firing the Tactical is significantly faster.
  • You can use ADS while aiming the Tactical to zoom in.
  • Ultimate: raise time is slightly shorter, and the firing arc is adjusted so the main explosive projectile lands more quickly.
  • A new indicator shows the radius of the initial and subsequent explosions.
  • Mini-bombs explode sooner.
  • The initial explosion has less damage falloff, so enemies near its outer edge take a larger share of maximum damage.

Fuse’s upgrade choices also change:

  • Knuckle Jumper, Level 2, and Wreckless, Level 3, are removed.
  • Reignition moves from Level 3 to Level 2. It now restores one second of Ultimate cooldown per three explosive damage instead of per two explosive damage.
  • Pyro Techniques, Level 2: the radius of persistent flames is doubled.
  • New Big Bang, Level 3: Knuckle Cluster explosions cover a 50% larger area.
  • New Sticky Bomb, Level 3: Knuckle Cluster’s initial projectile is 25% larger and sticks to enemies. Every seven hits on an enemy reduce Knuckle Cluster’s cooldown by one second.

Catalyst: quicker setups and a friendlier wall

Catalyst’s changes aim to make moving between defensive positions less cumbersome. There is also an important drawback: she is no longer immune to other Catalysts’ abilities.

  • Tactical: placement automatically reinforces or rebuilds a valid door or doorway when the projectile collides with it.
  • Tactical cooldown drops from 20 to 15 seconds.
  • Spikes are taller, making them harder to jump over.
  • Direct projectile hits now damage enemies.
  • Ultimate: firing time is significantly shorter, making wall deployment smoother.
  • Allies are no longer slowed or blinded when passing through the wall.

Her upgrade layout is reshuffled:

  • Sole Piercer, Level 2, is removed.
  • Hidden Spikes moves from Level 2 to Level 3.
  • Resilient Veil and Ferro-Door move from Level 3 to Level 2.
  • Ferro-Door also increases the maximum number of reinforced doors from four to six.
  • Resilient Veil also reduces Ultimate cooldown from 150 to 120 seconds.
  • New Ferro-Frenzy, Level 3: increases your maximum Spike count by one. Spikes are 50% smaller but deal faster tick damage.

Bloodhound: sonar visibility adjustments

The new Split 2 changes make sonar snapshots begin fading sooner. They should also disappear more readily when you see the head of either the snapshot or the tracked player.

The notes separately recap these August 25 hotfix changes:

  • Ultimate cloak visibility was reduced while inside the dome.
  • Ring damage no longer breaks cloak.
  • Tactical scan duration increased by one second.
  • Scans provide more frequent snapshots, which fade over time.

Legend nerfs already introduced in the August 25 hotfix

Axle: more counterplay against Kickstart

The developers wanted opponents to have a better chance to destroy Axle’s drone or control where its knockback sends them. These changes are listed as part of the earlier hotfix:

  • Nitro Gate launch speed decreased from 750 to 700.
  • Ultimate HP decreased from 200 to 150.
  • Base Ultimate cooldown increased from 90 to 120 seconds.
  • The Ultimate’s knockback arc was widened, and its maximum height was reduced.
  • Ultimate stun duration dropped from 1.5 to 0.25 seconds.
  • Jump Gate was replaced by Drone Deployer, an upgrade that brings Ultimate cooldown back to 90 seconds.

Seer: Tactical no longer slows turning

The August 25 hotfix removed the turn slow applied when Seer’s Tactical hits you. The developers considered that penalty frustrating to fight against and felt the ability remained strong without it.

Loot: more healing and better-stocked reset bins

The team says healing had become scarcer than intended. Meanwhile, removing energy ammo caused other ammo boxes to spawn too frequently. Split 2 adjusts those rates without abandoning the previous update’s overall loot-progression goals.

Before the Loot Bin Reset

  • Healing items are more available.
  • Ammo availability is slightly reduced.

After the Loot Bin Reset

  • Reset bins contain more items on average.
  • Healing, ammo, Survival Slot items, and Amps appear more frequently.

The distinction matters: ammo becomes slightly less common before the reset, but more available inside reset bins. The reset changes are intended to make late-game restocking more practical without restoring the full power spike of the pre-Season 30 system.

Fewer empty bins and a broader Weapon Assist pool

  • Loot bin logic is updated to significantly reduce the chance of empty bins spawning.
  • Weapon Assist can now spawn all base weapons instead of only selected pistols, shotguns, and the Alternator.
  • Weapon Assist applies when you open your first loot bin of the match with no weapons in your inventory.

Weapon buffs and attachment changes

The developers are avoiding a major weapon overhaul while Season 30’s changes settle. Instead, three underperforming long-range weapons receive buffs. For a broader overview, you can consult our Apex Legends weapons guide.

Triple Take

  • Fire rate while aiming down sights is increased.
  • Blue magazine capacity increases from eight to nine.

Bocek Compound Bow

  • Arrow stockpile increases from 40 to 60.
  • Explosive arrows per energize increase from seven to 10.
  • With Sparrow’s Quiver, arrow stockpile increases from 50 to 70.
  • With Sparrow’s Quiver, explosive arrows per energize increase from nine to 12.

Charge Rifle

  • Maximum distance damage increases from 99 to 110.
  • Maximum damage occurs beyond 200 meters.
  • The selectfire damage penalty decreases from 40% to 25%.

Agile Standard Stock [Corrupted]: stacking fix already hotfixed

The stock’s movement-speed bonus no longer stacks with Maggie’s Warlord’s Ire passive, Maggie’s Gunrunning upgrade, or Gibraltar’s Fast Shotties upgrade. This fixes an unintended interaction rather than introducing a new Split 2 change.

Executioner costs less to unlock

The Executioner Locked Hop-Up unlock cost drops from 375 to 275. The developers cite the inconsistency of heavy-hitting shotgun damage as the reason for making the unlock easier.

Maps and mode rotations

More than 150 map-related quality-of-life fixes arrive across the Outlands, with a large share focused on World’s Edge. They address sticky collisions, geometry holes that could swallow loot or Legends, unintended hiding spots, and clipping involving Alter’s Ultimate.

Pubs and Ranked

Both modes use the same map rotation:

  • World’s Edge
  • Olympus
  • Broken Moon

Mixtape: September 15–November 3, 2026

  • TDM: Fragment, Skull Town, Monument, Estates.
  • Control: Production Yard, Labs, Barometer, Caustic.
  • Gun Run: Monument, Estates, Fragment, Skull Town.

Wildcard

EVO earned while you have no weapon equipped now counts toward progression on the first weapon you equip.

  • Kings Canyon Wildcard
  • Olympus Wildcard
  • District Wildcard

Ranked Ladders schedule

Ranked Ladders arrive later in the split rather than on its opening day. All dates below are in 2026:

  • Ladder 1: September 22–27.
  • Ladder 2: September 29–October 4.
  • Ladder 3: October 6–11.
  • Ladder 4: October 13–18.
  • Ladder 5: October 20–25.
  • Ladder 6: October 27–November 1.

Audio controls and quality of life

  • A new audio-menu option lets you toggle weapon dialogue on or off. It appears if you own a talking weapon skin.
  • Abnormally loud interior audio on Olympus and E-District is fixed.
  • Missing third-person footstep audio when using Sparrow’s Hunt Target upgrade is fixed.
  • Valkyrie’s enemy targeting while skydiving is more responsive.

The weapon-dialogue toggle accompanies the talking weapon skins in the Cyberpunk collaboration, giving you control over whether you hear their lines.

Bug fixes

Mixtape and Respawn from Deathbox

  • Wattson: fixed Interception Pylon failing to intercept Fuse’s The Motherlode.

Weapon and engine fixes

  • P2020: fixed the Tactical Laser sight not properly reducing recoil control.
  • Fixed cloak rendering on consoles and on PC with TSAA enabled, making it consistent across visual options.
  • Fixed a party-joining issue that could leave you stuck in a zero-player party.

World’s Edge fixes

  • East Village: closed a terrain hole players could hide inside, and added or adjusted cover.
  • Monument/Fragment: restored missing railings on the bottom level of construction stacks.
  • Sorting Factory: fixed players clipping into moving crates through an Alter portal.
  • East Village, Tree Settlement, and Sorting Factory: fixed inconsistent vertical zipline behavior.
