GTA 5 cheats work on PS5 exactly the same way as on older consoles: you either tap them in on the controller or dial them on the in-game phone. They only work in Story Mode, not in GTA Online, and as soon as you use one, trophies stop popping for the rest of that session. Below you’ll find all 36 codes split into two parts: character and world first, then vehicles.
How to enter a cheat on PS5
You have two options, and both lead to the same result. The difference is how fast you can do it and whether you remember the code as a button sequence or as a number.
With the DualSense controller
Tap in the sequence quickly while playing. The game shows no confirmation window; the effect just kicks in immediately. If nothing happens, it’s almost always because you pressed the buttons too slowly or a mission is running.
With the in-game phone
Pull out the phone with the up arrow, switch to contacts, press ☐ to dial, enter the number starting with 1-999 and confirm with ☐ again. This method is more reliable because it doesn’t depend on how fast your fingers are, and for three vehicles it’s actually the only option.
Character, weapon and world cheats
The table is sorted by how often the codes get used: invincibility, gear and wanted stars at the top, gravity gags at the bottom.

Car, bike and plane cheats
The vehicle appears right next to you, so find some open space first; in a narrow alley the Buzzard will land on your head. Spawned vehicles aren’t saved to your garage and disappear when you leave the session.

The last three vehicles can only be spawned with the phone, and only after you meet the requirements below.
Three vehicles you have to unlock
The Kraken, Dodo and Duke O’Death can’t be spawned from the start of the game. You first have to complete specific tasks, and only then does the matching number start working.
- Kraken (submarine): finish the first Beverly mission from the Strangers and Freaks series and photograph 20 animals in the LS Tourist Info Wildlife Photography challenge.
- Dodo (seaplane): unlocks after Trevor’s mission Nervous Ron.
- Duke O’Death (armored car): you need to complete the first mission for Tonya, also from the Strangers and Freaks series.
There’s no money cheat in GTA 5
This is the most common question about cheats in GTA 5, and the answer is clear: Rockstar never added a money code to Story Mode, not on PS5 and not on any other platform. Every “cash generator” you can find is either a scam or a PC mod.
In single player, you can only earn money in the game itself: heists with a well-chosen crew, the stock market tied to Lester’s assassination missions, and side activities. If you just want to goof around, the vehicle cheats will replace most of what you’d be buying with that money anyway.
What cheats disable
Cheats aren’t free, and the game tells you so right away. Two restrictions people trip over most often:
- Trophies. As soon as you use any cheat in a session, they stop unlocking. The fix is simple: save the game before you go wild and go back to that save when you’re done.
- Missions. You can’t enter a code during an active mission. You have to be in free roam before the game accepts the sequence.
In GTA Online, cheats don’t work at all. Trying to get around that with mods leads straight to an account ban, so that’s not an option, not even by accident.
