Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 launched on 14 November 2025 with 27 multiplayer perks split into three colours. This guide lists every one of them with what it does, then explains combat specialties, the Perk Greed wildcard, Overclock upgrades and the scorestreaks Activision has named itself. It applies to PC, PlayStation and Xbox and reflects the game as of 19 October 2026, during Season 06.
How perks work in Black Ops 7
Every loadout gets three perks picked from a large pool. Perks come in three colours: red (Enforcer), blue (Recon) and green (Strategist). Some guides call the same groups Offense, Stealth and Support. The colour matters because it decides which combat specialty you get, more on that below.
At launch the game had 27 perks, six more than Black Ops 6 with its 21. The tables below cover exactly those 27 launch perks.
Progression is shared across the whole game: XP from the campaign, multiplayer, Zombies and Warzone all feeds one level. Across 55 levels (Private I to Commander) you unlock weapons, equipment, scorestreaks and operators. Once you enter Prestige, unlocked loadout items lock again and loadouts reset, but each prestige gives you one Permanent Unlock to keep one item for good. Our beginner’s guide covers progression in more detail.
One thing to keep in mind: this list is for multiplayer. Zombies has its own system (Perk-a-Cola machines, Augments and GobbleGums), covered in our Zombies guide. Warzone is a separate free-to-play game with its own Warzone guides.
Red perks (Enforcer)
Red perks are the aggressive ones. They help with movement, ammo and scorestreaks.

| Perk | What it does |
|---|---|
| Scavenger | Resupply ammo and equipment from fallen players. |
| Lightweight | Faster movement, longer jumps, slides and dives. |
| Gung Ho | Fire your weapon while sprinting. |
| Assassin | Enemies on a streak are marked and drop Bounty Packs when killed. |
| Close Shave | A weapon butt attack automatically uses your dedicated melee attack. |
| Hunter’s Instinct | A kill shows the direction of the next closest enemy. |
| Looper | Re-earn scorestreaks in the same life. |
| Dexterity | Less weapon sway, full aiming while sliding and diving, reduced fall damage. |
| Tac Sprinter | Tactical sprint at the cost of a slower regular sprint. |
| Bankroll | Start every life with +150 scorestreak score. |
| Bruiser | Melee kills restore health and score. |
Blue perks (Recon)
Blue perks are about information and staying hidden. Either you see more, or the enemy sees less of you.
| Perk | What it does |
|---|---|
| Cold-Blooded | Invisible to AI targeting and thermal optics. |
| Ghost | Invisible to Scout Pulse and UAV while moving, planting, defusing and controlling scorestreaks. |
| Ninja | Quieter movement. |
| Vigilance | An icon shows when an enemy minimap sees you; immune to CUAV, Scrambler and Vendetta. |
| Blast Link | Explosive damage marks enemies on the minimap for your whole team. |
| Engineer | See enemy equipment and scorestreaks through walls. |
| Tracker | Approximate position of nearby enemies on the minimap, plus footprints. |
| Vendetta | After respawning, the last position of your killer is marked. |
Green perks (Strategist)
Green perks are support tools: resistances, equipment, Field Upgrades and helping your team.
| Perk | What it does |
|---|---|
| Tech Mask | Resistance to flash, stun and gas; immune to EMP and hacking. |
| Flak Jacket | Reduced explosive and fire damage. |
| Shadow | Invisible to enemy traps and mines. |
| Fast Hands | Faster reloads and weapon swaps. |
| Gearhead | Two Field Upgrade charges. |
| Quartermaster | Equipment recharges over time. |
| Charge Link | Faster Field Upgrade charge for the whole team. |
| Guardian | Faster healing on objectives and faster revives. |
Combat specialties: a bonus for matching colours
Equip three perks of the same colour and you get an extra bonus, the combat specialty. Three reds give you Enforcer: after a kill you briefly move faster and regenerate. Three blues give Recon, three greens give Strategist.
Black Ops 7 also adds hybrid specialties. You get a bonus for mixing colours too, typically two perks of one colour plus one of another. That means you no longer have to build a class from a single group to get something extra out of your perks.
Wildcards and Perk Greed
Each loadout also takes one wildcard, which bends the usual class-building rules. Activision’s own example in its progression article is Perk Greed: it gives you an extra perk and unlocks at level 33. We deliberately leave out a full wildcard list, because no official source or two independent outlets confirm it consistently.
Overclock: upgrading scorestreaks and equipment
Overclock arrived with Black Ops 7. For the first time it lets you upgrade scorestreaks, Field Upgrades and equipment as well. The more you use an item, the more Overclocks you unlock, with two tiers per item. Activision’s example: the Cluster Grenade gets Controllable Fuse and Tighter Packing.
Overclock was one of the headline multiplayer additions at launch, alongside the Overload and Skirmish modes and Omnimovement.
Scorestreaks
Activision has introduced these scorestreaks by name:
- Rhino – a remote-controlled armoured robot.
- D.A.W.G. – a four-legged ground unit with a machine gun and rockets.
- Grim Reaper and SAM Turret – added in Season 01.
- Lockshot – a smart pistol that locks onto multiple targets, added in Season 02.
Other scorestreaks include the UAV, Counter UAV and Care Package. The Drone Pod is not a scorestreak but a Field Upgrade. We don’t publish a full scorestreak table with score costs, because only one source backs it. During seasons you also unlock new scorestreaks through Weekly Challenges, which hand out weapons and attachments too.
What applies in Ranked Play
According to Activision Support, Ranked Play follows Call of Duty League rules. Only assault rifles, SMGs, pistols and melee are allowed, with snipers restricted in Search & Destroy. If you build a Ranked loadout, plan around those weapon classes. For where the fighting happens, see our BO7 maps list, and for the current season read our Season 6 guide.
