Diablo IV 3.1.3: fixes for seasonal progress, teleporting and bosses

Diablo IV 3.1.3: fixes for seasonal progress, teleporting and bosses

Diablo IV patch 3.1.3 changes how one seasonal objective is counted, fixes teleporting through War Plans and makes it easier to join an Echo of Mephisto fight that is already underway. It also adds several visual fixes. This isn’t a big class damage rebalance but a smaller update aimed at specific problems during play.

Version 3.1.3, build #73224, is dated 12 August 2026 in the official list and applies to all platforms: PC, Xbox and PlayStation. Below you’ll find all of its changes, followed by a short selection of important changes from previous versions.

Season of Death Awakening: another way to a seasonal objective

Escalation Nightmare Dungeons with the Ruptures affix now also count toward the Set Fire to the Beacons objective in Season Rank III. So if you’re running that exact combination, it will help you complete the seasonal objective.

War Plans and boss fights

  • Teleporting to Infernal Hordes through War Plans should no longer occasionally fail on difficulties below Torment.
  • Party members who join an Echo of Mephisto fight already in progress can now use the portal to enter the third phase of the fight.
  • Resummoning the Corrupted Reaper boss removes the corpse from the previous fight.

For group play, the most important change is the Echo of Mephisto one: if you join after the fight has started, you can now take a portal into its third phase.

Class fixes: mostly better combat readability

  • Druid: using Petrify on the Corrupted Reaper no longer deforms its wings.
  • Necromancer: Shadow skill effects no longer obscure the Corrupted Reaper.
  • Warlock: the Chain Aura Variant of Dark Prison should no longer occasionally make your character appear transparent to other players.

These three fixes deal with appearance and visibility. Patch 3.1.3 lists no changes to damage or other combat values for them.

Important changes from previous patches

If you’re returning to the game after a longer break, the following selection sums up several significant changes from versions 3.1.2, 3.1.1 and 3.1.0. These are not additional changes in patch 3.1.3.

3.1.2: the protective bubble returns in The Pit

The update from 28 July 2026 brought back the protective bubble that grants invulnerability after completing The Pit. If a Whisper Ambush doesn’t trigger, it appears right after the run is completed. If a Whisper Ambush does trigger, the bubble appears only after you kill its boss.

  • Killing a frozen Soul Eater should no longer stop further enemies from spawning.
  • The Deathtoll Chamber should no longer complete before the Soul Eater is killed.
  • Fixed an issue where Mythic Unique items could not be salvaged.
  • The Horadric Cube recipe for crafting Mythic items was renamed from “Upgrade” to “Craft”. According to the developers, this aligns the name with what the recipe does and with the naming of other recipes.

3.1.1: rewards and cheaper Mythic crafting

The patch from 14 July 2026 adjusted several reward sources and the cost of a Horadric Cube recipe:

  • Deathtoll Chambers at high Torment levels always award at least one Superior Lair Key.
  • The Corrupted Reaper can drop up to two Pandemonium Fragments depending on the Torment level.
  • The repeatable Glints of Hope reputation reward guarantees a Pandemonium Fragment.
  • The cost of the recipe then called Upgrade to Mythic dropped from five to four Pandemonium Fragments.
  • Fixed Forgotten Souls not being awarded from Whisper Caches on Torment levels.

We cover crafting and gear upgrades on their own in our Diablo 4 crafting guide.

3.1.0: gear changes, shared War Plans and higher caps

Among other things, the large patch from 30 June 2026 made it possible to change affixes on Unique, Mythic Unique and Iconic Mythic items with Enchanting. Affixes added to Mythic Unique items through Enchanting, Transfiguration and Tempering always have their maximum value when added.

  • Parties can create fully shared War Plans with synchronized progress and objectives.
  • The Obols cap rose from 2,500 to 25,000 and the Gem Fragments cap from 999,999 to 999,999,999.
  • The amount of Gem Fragments you earn on Torment X and above increased significantly.
  • Gem conversion recipes at the Jeweler were adjusted so that each uses only two gem types.
  • Escalation Sigils can be salvaged, and Baleful Fragments can be converted into Forgotten Souls at the Alchemist.
